The business was established in 1985 and currently has 8 units. The stores are open 24 hours a day and cater for residents, office workers and tourists visiting London.
We stock a wide range of convenience items ranging from sandwiches, soft drinks, cigarettes, alcohol (including beers, wines and spirits) to newspapers and other non food items, we even sell a range of baked goods, American products and souvenirs.
We started in 1985 as Portland Food and Wine with our first and longest running branch that is currently located on Great Portland Street. Since then we have expanded to locations near Paddington, Russell Square and St Pauls.
We recently acquired 2 new units on High Street Kensington in September 2013 and a new unit near St James’ Park bringing our total to 9.
The company is now being fully rebranded to Portlands 24/7 with the frontage of all the shops being updated to reflect our new style. This was a decision taken by management to refresh our outlook and modernize our classic color scheme.
Our most important core value that is prioritized above anything else is that of the service provided to our customers. We ensure this by the extended hours of operation, catering to our customer needs at any time and a wider range of quality merchandise that is not supplied by large supermarkets. We also ensure that our goods are of a higher quality received in budget outlets to maintain a higher level of prestige in our good.
We supplement this by training our staff in our values and ethics. We train our managers to be flexible and to offer a service to suit locals as well as maintaining a minimum standard of goods as denoted above.
We maintain a high standard of cleanliness and merchandising throughout our shops.
We also believe in supporting smaller bespoke suppliers and providing a channel for such suppliers an outlet to bring their new and unique products to the market.
